Job Descriptions
- In conjunction with the management team, direct the development of an effective strategy to mitigate risk, maintain continuity of operations and safeguard the organization’s properties, customers, and employees
- Provide a security architecture that is suitable for retail and hospitality operations and characterized by appropriate awareness, prevention, preparedness, and response to changes in threat conditions
- Identify and understand the nature of security risks in the business environment and the application of appropriate managerial controls to mitigate those risks
- Implement and maintain security processes, practices, and policies throughout the organization to reduce risks, respond to incidents and limit exposure and liability in all areas of physical, personal, and reputational risk
- Deploy innovative security management techniques to safeguard the organization’s assets
- Lead and enable business units in the implementation of policies and the detection and reporting of risks in a timely manner
- Coordinate and implement site security operations and activities to ensure the protection of employees, customers, stakeholders, visitors, etc.
- Logically determine the probability of security-related incidents within the organization and develop appropriate preventive strategies consistent with business judgment and internal controls
- Develop a relationship with high-level law enforcement, intelligence, and private sector counterparts to contribute to the organization’s security goals
- Evaluate and respond to the continuously increasing and changing risks to the organization and its assets
Minimum Qualifications
- Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management or a similar field, or a former security professional who has worked in the Police or armed forces sector as an added advantage.
- 8 – 15 years of experience working as a security manager.
- Experience corporate security or preferably working in a hospitality environment as an added advantage
- Excellent knowledge of state and federal information security laws.
- Proven proficiency in developing physical and digital security protocols and procedures.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional managerial skills and the ability to lead a team of security personnel
- Ability to research and stay up to date with security trends, as well as changing government and state laws.
- Understanding of new technology for security management
- Proficiency in information management systems and knowledge of cybersecurity.
- Ability to research and stay up to date with security trends, as well as changing government and state laws.
